We moved to Palo Alto a year ago and got an e-bike for the first time. I’ve longtime wanted to bike my kids around and we loved having an e-bike with two kid seats attached on the back. I’m currently pregnant with baby #3, and we realized we needed something that would fit the whole family. Our oldest isn’t quite ready to bike himself everywhere, and we love being able to do our commutes entirely by bike. We did a lot of research and talked to other bunch families and decided to get a bunch bike instead of a minivan 😂 We’re a few days in and my kids are loving it. There are so many excellent things compared to a traditional e-bike! I love that I can play music or stories as we bike around for my kids. Plus, with them seated in front of me we can chat about the day and we can actually hear each other. We can fit the diaper bag, and we love that it fits into our active life style. A bunch bike is slightly less agile than a traditional bike with a larger turn radius. This takes some getting used to, but even after two days I’ve found that I can go everywhere I went with my e-bike and I generally feel more stable with my kids on a trike than I did on a two wheeled, incredibly back-heavy cargo e-bike.
